Ciara McInnes 'What If' Residency supported by Glasgow City Heritage Trust

SaltSpace, with grant aided support from the Glasgow City Heritage Trust, are delighted to offer the ‘What If’ residency for disciplines and contemporary practice that directly relates to the questions, problems & ideas around Glasgow’s built environment.

Ciara's residency explored Glasgow's brutalist legacy, documenting the impact these now lost structures have left on the city and gathered first hand accounts of people's experiences living in high towers and mid-century housing developments across Glasgow.

The work created focused on four key sites across Glasgow, that were demolished as part of regeneration programmes:

Hutchesontown
Broomloan Court
Whitevale + Bluevale Towers
Red Road Flats
