The debut screening of 'I c', featured an introduction by producer Marie Schmidt Olesen and a Q&A via zoom with director Helene Moltke-Leth. “I c” is there to create a real, tangible sense of hope, despite the huge challenges of climate change. Its ambition is to be a catalyst for the movements that instigate change and promote awareness, through talks, storytelling and direct action – big or small. To touch politicians, companies, you and me, so that everyone realizes the need to take a stance and act.

Director's statement:
Video is Latin for ‘I see’. Care, Climate, COP all start with a c. I c is pronounced I see in English. Even though I am Danish I have chosen to make the short film in English so it can reach out and engage a bigger and international audience with Its message.

It is the film itself that is the protagonist in “I c”. It is not the individual voices. It is quite opposite of what we are used to. Usually, the film is the form and the illusion we buy into; The story is that we follow a main protagonist and supporting characters who must undergo a development. In "I c" it is the film itself, which develops from woman to man, from younger to older, from individual to a multi-gendered "we" - from the individual's identity questions to the survival of the planet. A "we" that is ultimately a multi-gendered and omniscient voice that may come from within Mother Earth, which articulates the serious climate changes that humanity is facing now, no matter who you are. I believe the most important role of art is to raise questions. "I c" is one long line of questions.

HELENE MOLTKE-LETH is an artist, DJ and international award winning short film director. She has received eight international awards for her films, which have been screened at over forty film-, art-, and poetry festivals around the world.
