The SaltSpace X GSA Graduate Award
SaltSpace is delighted to offer this award to celebrate and nurture the creative endeavours and artistic merit and innovation of a graduate from the School of Fine Art graduating class of 2024.
Twelve artists will be shortlisted and awarded one year’s free graduate membership with SaltSpace Cooperative, and all twelve artists will be invited to submit a proposal to be considered for the Graduate Award.
From the shortlist one artist will be awarded the SaltSpace X GSA Graduate Award 2024.
The awarded artist will receive:

A six week studio based residency in our Dornoch St studios G40 2QT
-
£400 artist fee
-
A one week solo show in our SaltSpace gallery in the Axiom Building, Washington St, G3 8AZ
-
Two tutorial meetings with SaltSpace committee members
-
Plus marketing support and a social media take over during the residency period.
Selection process
The shortlisted artists will be invited to submit the following information in order to be considered for the award:

5 jpegs of recent work – this can be from your degree show or otherwise

A CV and Artist statement

Concept Outline: What kind of themes and work would you want to explore within the residency.

Concept Description: Give us the full details on what you're planning - a brief project outline.

What you’ll need from Salt Space? E.g gallery hire, specific equipment, social media takeovers.

Suggested dates ( we may not be able to offer the exact dates you request but will try our best) . Maybe best to indicate preferred months rather than exact dates.

One of the key aims of this award is to nurture creativity in Glasgow, and provide an opportunity for a recent graduate to stay in the city, develop a body of work post-graduation, and begin to develop key skills to sustain their practice after college.
If you feel this award does not apply to you and you will definitely not be in Glasgow/available in Winter 2024 / Spring 2025 then please get in touch with us to let us know that you would like to opt out of the award/judging process.
