Vytautas Bikauskas

I’m an illustrator and New Media artist from Lithuania, currently based in Glasgow, Scotland. I study BA Interaction Design at the Glasgow School of Art.

My personal work focuses on spiritual and domestic rituals in the hyper-mediated context. Using knowledge of physics and experience in education I navigate information overload through speculative narratives and fantastical semiotics. I draw diagrams, perform rites, exercise futility and endorse accidental particulars. Mediums range from creative coding to animations, from lecture-performances to Machine Learning. But mostly I draw.

As an illustrator I work on book illustrations, album covers, label designs and animations. I combine a traditional etching feel with surreal subjects and compositions - an engraver tries surfing the web on a chisel. I work with publishers, small companies and brands, as well as individual clients.
