'Invisible Women' - Shona Wardrop

In January 2022 we selected member Shona Wardrop for our artist residency at SaltSpace gallery. Shona wished to use the four week residency as a literal way of being seen and heard, almost as a performance piece to comment on visibility of disabled women in the arts.

In the last two years Shona has been exploring her creative practice and female voice as an older disabled woman. Shona is an emerging artist based in Largs Scotland and recently graduated with a First in the BA (Hons) Contemporary Art Practice from the City of Glasgow College. Her residency time will also culminate into a solo showcase of work in the gallery!

At the end of her residency Shona had an open evening to present works in progress and to gain feedback in preparation for a solo exhibition of work at SaltSpace gallery later in the year.
